Activity

We are leading a 10-mile linear heritage cycle ride entirely on traffic-free cycle lanes through the historic parts of London. Starting in South Kensington we will cycle into Hyde Park and visit the Albert Memorial and Serpentine Lake. The park has a network of cycle lanes, passing the many places of interest. We then cycle through Green Park and pass in front of Buckingham Palace, all on CS3 route. Then St James Park and onto Westminster Abbey. We will stop at the Green outside Westminster Palace where the leader will explain the history of the Houses of Parliament and the famous statues of the great and the good. We then join the Embankment cycle superhighway, alongside the Thames, all traffic-free with great views of the South Bank, London Eye, Whitehall and Somerset House. We will end at Tower Pier with an option for refreshments at the many riverside cafes and Wetherspoons. Ride suitable for all cycles. People without cycles can hire bikes (normal and electric) at the start. Website links to hire services.
