Activity
This 7-mile riverside walk starts in the picturesque village of Kew in the borough of Richmond-upon-Thames. The walk is flat but may be muddy in parts on the towpath. From Cafe Torelli we make our way to Kew Green to view the 2024 Banksy artwork and join the river at the foot of the 1903 stone Kew Bridge. From here we follow the river, enjoying beautiful views from the south bank, passing under the impressive grade 2 listed railway bridge and Chiswick road bridge, eventually reaching the magnificent Hammersmith Bridge (currently closed to road traffic) which we will cross. Along the way we will learn about the history of each of the bridges. At this point walkers can choose to leave us at Hammersmith Station or join us in a lunch stop at the Riverside Studios cafe or the pub. From there we will continue along the north side of the river before heading to the end of our walk at Turnham Green Station (District Line) via the pretty and fashionable Devonshire Road, adorned with Christmas lights.
Refreshments
Tea room at start, lunch and tea options at Hammersmith and Turnham Green. In Kew village there is a Tesco Metro and Gail's too if you want to buy sandwiches.
Travel
Kew Gardens Station is on the Mildmay and District lines. Turnham Green is on the Ealing Broadway and Richmond branches of the District line (one stop away from connections to the Piccadilly and Mildmay lines). Residential parking in Kew only operates Monday-Friday so parking on side streets is possible near start. Two stops from Turnham Green Station on the way back.

11:00am prompt inside Cafe Torelli, 3 Royal Parade, TW9 3QD. On west side of station on the London-bound platform, 2 minutes walk. Cafe is next to The Good Wine Shop. Ignore cafe with same name on the Richmond-bound platform side. Toilets on the station platform and inside cafe.
