Activity
A circular autumnal ramble in the beautiful Surrey Hills. About 9 miles and plenty of hills! After summiting Box Hill with its stunning long distance views, we will take a steep descent (sticks recommended if you use them) to the River Mole. Then we will skirt the extensive and award-winning Denbies vineyard up to Ranmore Church and Common. We can take our lunch at Polesden Lacey estate (our own or purchased from them). Bring National Trust cards if you have them (not essential). We will then walk down to Tanners Hatch cottage, formerly a YHA hostel, which will be of particular interest to anyone who is interested in volunteering to help restore it as an independent hostel. Your walk leader will explain the opportunities on the day. We then return to the train station and may enjoy a sherbert at the nearby pub.
Refreshments
Various opportunities to buy refreshments along the way or bring your own. Pub at end of walk.
Travel
Train or bus to starting point. Station is serviced by South Western Railway and Southern Railway with connections from Clapham Junction on the Dorking and Horsham lines. Bus 465 from Kingston to Dorking runs nearby. Very limited car parking at the station (16 spaces), otherwise park on the street at Old London Road, Dorking, RH5 6BY next to Ryka's Cafe (famous bikers location). Ryka's Cafe has its own car park but as it is not 24 hours, street parking is the better option.

10:45am prompt at Box Hill and Westhumble Station, Westhumble Street, Westhumble, RH5 6BT
