Activity

This circular 26-mile ride takes in route 6/61 from Rickmansworth to St Albans and then the Alban Way from St Albans to Hatfield and back. Nearly all route is traffic-free along Ebury Way, the Abbey Way cycle path to St Albans and the Alban Way. We will explore the Roman amphitheatre and town walls at St Albans plus the cathedral. The Alban Way has several former stations rebuilt as features along the line with sculptures on route. Aim is to take Abbey Flyer train from St Albans to Watford before the final leg along Ebury Way back to start. Route is level surface throughout, ideal for beginners. Route suitable for all cycles.

Cafe at start. Lots of outlets on route.

Travel

Metropolitan or Chiltern line to Rickmansworth. 5 minutes' ride to start. Cycles can be taken on all trains. Free parking at start.
