Activity
This 6-mile circular dog-friendly walk starts in the picturesque suburb of Eastcote. The Metropolitan Railway was extended in 1904, passing through Eastcote. This extension created Metro Land and also allowed travellers to visit for a day out in the countryside. The walk takes in Cavendish Park with the mock Tudor Cavendish Country House. The house is surrounded by beautiful rose gardens. The walk continues through Pine Gardens and Bessingby Gardens until it reaches Yeading Brook, which is home to a variety of flora and fauna. We then cross into Roxbourne Park (see the miniature railway) and then the local nature reserve, Roxbourne Rough. Here birds such as the blackcap, bullfinch, chiffchaff and heron can be seen. These walks will continue on alternate Fridays over the next months.
