Activity
This 8-mile linear walk on the Chiltern line includes visits to two National Trust manors. The route passes through beech woods, dressed in flaming gold and red autumn colours. Look out for the berries hanging from the yew trees in the German wood. We will walk through the National Trust village of Bradenham with its manor house and church. Lunch at the Red Lion Tea Rooms, outside benches for packed lunch. We then cross meadows and ancient woods to reach Hughenden Manor. Hughenden was the country house of Disraeli during his time as Prime Minister. No charge for walking through estate. The gardens of the estate include orchards featuring a great variety of traditional English apples. We can purchase some at the farm shop, and there are tea rooms at the manor. We walk downhill to High Wycombe via oak woods and Disraeli lookout. Some hills on the route.
Refreshments
