Wandering Heights and Clean Air

Activities: Revisit the tempestuous world of the Brontė classics, Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre. Brontė fans will enjoy the museum and leisurely walks to spots that inspired the famous books. There's also plenty of entertainment for children with Eureka!, Britain's first childrens' interactive museum at Halifax, and bowling, swimming and ice-skating facilities within a 10-mile radius. The National Museum of Photography, Film and Television is nearby.
Walks: 15-20 mile walk along the Moors on Saturday, 12-15 mile walk on Sunday, opportunities for other activities all days (research and organise), maybe something shorter on Monday before heading home in the afternoon. Sunset around 8:30pm so moor walk in the dark possible too.
Haworth is the famous location for Emily Bronte and a tourist attraction, so lots of sight seeing locally. Haworth Steam Railway operating weekends and holidays 1/2 mile.
Refreshments: Self catering, eat in hostel or eat out. Packed lunch should be assumed for the main day walks, will need to book packed lunches from hostel the day before, or make your own.
Travel: Distance is about 220 miles from north west London, so just over 4 hours, basically up the M1 and then a little north of Bradford. Car sharing etc. to be sorted the week before. Nearest train is Keighley (4 miles).
Accommodation: YHA Haworth, large Victorian mansion built in a grand style and overlooking the village of Haworth. Newly refurbished and updated for 2009. 2 rooms of 4 beds, and 2 rooms of 6 beds, reserved for exclusive HAWOG use. Longlands Drive, Lees Lane, Haworth, Keighley, West Yorkshire, BD22 8RT
