Scotland Week - Aviemore, Ben NevisDate: Sat-Sat Jul 19th-26th Organiser: Steve R Where: Cairngorms, Scotland Accommodation: Modern chalet accommodation (4 rooms of 2 beds each) for £64 a night and a family flat (4 persons) for £32 a night Cost: £8 pppn if all beds are filled (£10 event surcharge payable by casuals). £20 deposit required by Sat Feb 16th Activities: Walking, climbing (including Ben Nevis) Refreshments: Self-catering Feshiebridge Lodge is an excellent facility offering self-catering accommodation for groups of up to twenty-four persons (3 x 8-man chalets) and there is also a family flat available which sleeps 4 persons. It is situated just to the south of Aviemore, in the Cairngorms area of the Scottish Highlands, amidst stunning scenery and is a superb base for adventurous training activities. The area is ideally situated for mountain walking, rock climbing, mountain biking, sailing (on Loch Insh/Loch Morlich), canoeing, and pony trekking. The Cairngorm Gliding Club is only one mile away and also golfers are welcomed at the local courses. Clay Pigeon shooting is available at the nearby Rothiemurchus Estate. The Lodge was purpose-built as an activity centre and many visitors return to Feshiebridge Lodge year after year. The lodge consists of one four-person, families flat and 3 eight-person chalets. The lodge has a washing machine that is free for use and also a tumble dryer that is available for use. Each chalet has a lounge/diner with a kitchen area, a storage/drying room and four bedrooms that contain two tier bunks. Bedding, however, is not supplied. The family flat is self-contained and will accommodate two adults and two small children. It is complete with kitchen, bathroom, lounge and bedroom. All kitchens are equipped with an electric cooker (double oven), microwave oven, toaster and a fridge. A wide range of utensils, crockery and cutlery are supplied. There is a well-stocked general store just 2 miles from the Lodge in Kincraig. In addition, there are several supermarkets in Aviemore. Personnel using the Lodge have free access to Dalfaber Golf and Country Club where you can go swimming, play tennis indoors or outdoors or play squash.
