Royal Tunbridge Wells Walk

Date: Sat Nov 19th

Organiser: Tim

Cost: Free (quarterly surcharge payable by casuals)

Activity: 15 mile circular walk passing by Tunbridge Wells Common, Friezland Wood, High Rocks, Groombridge Place, Groombridge Station, Harrisons Rocks, Eridge Rocks, Eridge Park, Frant, Hawkenbury and Camden Park. Route is mainly flat or gently undulating, some paths may be muddy. Two half hour stops are planned at Groombridge and at Frant, where there are nice spots to eat outside and also pub options. Further smaller breaks will be taken along route as and when required.

Refreshments: Probably best to bring sandwiches as whilst there are pubs in both Groombridge and Frant, there may be inadequate time to wait for ordered meals (provided we make adequate progress breaks may be extended but due to short winter day length it is essential we finish in time)

Travel: By train from Charing Cross, suggest if few people travelling together consider getting group ticket as standard offpeak fare from Harrow about £30, group ticket approximately £15. Car parking £4.50

Start: 10:15am prompt at Tunbridge Wells station, postcode TN1 1BT

Finish: Around 5:00pm at start point
