Richmond Park Ramble

Date: Sun Jun 19th

Organiser: Mike D

Cost: Free (quarterly surcharge payable by casuals)

Activity: A walk around the beautiful Richmond Park. A total of 11 miles will be covered, 8 in the park and 3 getting there and back to the station. We will be following the Tamsin Trail, a route designed for joggers. This is a gravel laid track, so running shoes or basic trainers should be adequate. This will be easy going with gentle gradients.

Refreshments: Please bring a packed lunch. There may be the odd cafe on route but Mike has no information about this. At the end we have the option to remain in Richmond with its many trendy cafes and good pubs.

Travel: By train: Due to tube network disruption, Mike suggests: if starting from Harrow On The Hill tube station, take the Metropolitan line, Uxbridge branch, to Rayners Lane, then take the Piccadilly line to Acton Town. Change to the District line and go to Turnham Green station, take the District line to Richmond. This takes about an hour. By car: park at Paradise Road multi-storey car park, Paradise Road, Richmond TW9 1SQ. Cost to park on Sunday is £3.70 from 10am until 6pm, beyond 6pm you pay an extra £2.50. Car park opens at 10am and closes at midnight. Car park is about 300m from the station.

Start: 10:00am prompt at Richmond station

Finish: Around 4:30pm at start point
