Quantock Hills - Somerset

Cost: £12 per person for two nights (£10 event surcharge payable by casuals). Additional camping possible for £2 per person per night. Deposit of £10 required by Aug 1st.
Activities: Saturday - 15 mile circular walk planned starting from hostel, following the Quantock Greenway path. Some moderate hills and inclines/valleys included. Passing through the Quantock hills, may be muddy due to time of year and some open moorland so bring waterproofs. Pace expected to be around 2mph. Packed lunch required. Tea shop in Coleridge's cottage in Nether Stowey at end of walk. Sunday involves visiting Walled Gardens of Cannington, and Tea Rooms. Also potential visit to Taunton to visit rural cider farm.
Refreshments: Saturday lunch break - packed lunch required. Tea break at Coleridge Cottage at Nether Stowey at end of walk. Three pubs also available at Nether Stowey. Bunk house is self catering only. We have sole use of bunk house so bring food for all meals. Option to walk to local village for evening meals on Friday and Saturday. There are three pubs in Nether Stowey (1.3 miles away), and one at Keenthorne (1.7 miles away).
Travel: Driving: The Campbell Room is easily reached by motorway, via the M5 which passes close to Bridgwater. 165 miles from London. The best route is to leave the M5 at Junction 23 or 24 towards Bridgwater. Once in the town, pick up the A39 towards Minehead. After about 7 miles, opposite the Cottage Inn at Keenthorne, take the left fork in the road towards Over Stowey. Drive over 2 crossroads and immediately bear right at the fork in the road. Take the first left towards Adscombe. After about 300m you will come to the Campbell Room lying straight ahead at a small junction. Look for a long white and black building. Parking is available for 3 cars or 2 minibuses. A further 3 cars can normally be parked in a nearby lay-by. Public transport: Train to Taunton or Bridgewater, then taxi.
Accommodation: The Campbell Room occupies a sheltered rural position in the hamlet of Aley, near Over Stowey. Postcode: TA5 1HB. Basic bunk house with self catering facilities and toilet/shower block. Showers cost 50p for approximately 7 minutes. Two rooms sleeping maximum of 12 people, 6 male 6 female places available. One large activities room for meals/socialising etc. Bring sleeping bag, towel, pillow.
