Head for the Hills
Date: Sun Feb 12th
Organiser: Paul S
Cost: Free (quarterly surcharge payable by casuals)
Activity: 14 to 15 mile circular walk taking in much hilly terrain in the Chilterns. Around one third of the distance will be up or down hill. Pace will be moderate to brisk, and many climbs will be fairly long and some quite steep, so overall the event will be demanding.
Refreshments: We will not be passing any cafe or pub, except just before the end (and that's only if the pub is open at 4.30), so you will need to bring packed lunch and drink (including those people who shall remain nameless who usually rely on us passing a Tesco Express!). Also note that there will be no toilet facilities so you will need to prepare accordingly.
Travel: Car is the only option. Please use Forum for car sharing. Best route is M40 to junction 4 then a 7.5 mile drive along mostly country roads. Park on the road between the church and the school, where disturbance to local residents should be fairly minimal (although church-goers may need parking spaces).
Start: 10:00am prompt at Shogmoor Lane, Frieth, Buckinghamshire, RG9 6NT
Finish: Around 5:00pm at start point
