North Wales Castles and Coast

Cost: Accommodation is £56 (total) per person for the three nights, £10 deposit required by Jan 21st (£10 event surcharge payable by casuals).
Activities: Conwy town is a World Heritage Site thanks to its 13th century castle and town walls. You can walk the entire circuit of the walls for a panoramic view out to sea and along the Conwy valley. The town is a "Bastide town", that is a fortified medieval enclosure. Nearby is Llandudno and the great Orme (featured in BBC Coast). Betws y Coed (Snowdonia national park) is a short bus or train ride away. We will arrange coastal walks and hill walking in Snowdonia. Dean is arranging mountain biking at the Marin trail at Betws y Coed plus horse riding in the Conwy valley. There is also an opportunity to visit Bodnant Gardens, "the finest formal gardens in Wales", where the rhododendrons should be in full bloom by the start of May.
Refreshments: Hostel has full catering service and self-catering facilities. There are several pubs, cafes and restaurants in the town (10 minutes walk).
Travel: Regular trains from London, car share can be arranged nearer the date together with directions. Train details and fare offers available from Feb 1st.
