Christmas Calorie Cruncher!Date: Tue Dec 27th Organiser: Mike D Cost: Free (quarterly surcharge payable by casuals) Activity: 10 mile circular walk starting from Berkhamsted station. We will head north over Aldbury Common through the woods to the spectacular Bridgewater Monument. Then west over the Ashridge Estate where there is a pub stop. Onwards to the Golden Valley. This valley really lives up to its name and is small but beautifully formed. South now on the return leg of our walk back to Berkhamsted. The terrain is gentle and rolling, just what you need for a post Christmas outing! Refreshments: Pub stop at lunch time, however, packed lunch recommended as pub may be busy due to this being the Christmas period and the day after Boxing Day Travel: Train from Harrow and Wealdstone station, £7.80 return. 09:17 from Harrow and Wealdstone gets to Berkhamsted at 09:41. Will have a list of return times on the day. Will also keep informed nearer the time if any changes due to track maintenance.
