Chorleywood to Moor Park Walk

Activity: Starting out from Chorleywood station, south east to Chorleywood bottom. We cut through fields and towards the M25 down and cross over the footbridge continuing east towards the river Colne and reservoirs. Passing the popular Coy Carp pub we cross over Pynesfield Lake following the footpath to join the Colne Valley Trail. A small detour up the hill towards Harefield to take in the wonderful view at the Old Orchard pub in Harefield we then rejoin the Colne Valley train north and then the Hillingdon Trail east crossing Park Wood towards Hill End. We continue north east crossing fields and woodland towards Woodcock Hill where we stop at the lovely Rose and Crown pub for lunch. Then we head east into Bishop's Wood Country Park following the London Loop path into the picturesque Moor Park estate and finish at the tube station. Approx 11 miles, 5 hours including a leisurely lunch stop.
Refreshments: Pub stop at the Rose and Crown pub, Woodcock Hill - about half way
Travel: Travel to Chorleywood (Metropolitan line or Chiltern), finish at Moor Park (Metropolitan line). Only engineering works on Metropolitan line this weekend are between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Aldgate. Trains should be running North from Harrow-on-the-Hill as usual. Car parking is available at Chorleywood station - £1 to park on Saturday - 238 spaces - plenty of space all day. There is also parking at Moor Park station, £1 to park on a Saturday - 103 spaces available, which should have room on a Saturday if you get there before 10:00.
