The Chiltern LinkDate: Sun Dec 11th Organiser: Dave S Cost: Free (quarterly surcharge payable by casuals) Activity: Closely following the ancient trade route from Wendover to Chesham, this 8 mile walk through classic Chiltern countryside links the Ridgeway National Trail with the Chess Valley Walk. Some moderate hills. Stout, waterproof footwear is recommended, as some sections of this walk can be muddy at this time of year. Refreshments: Refreshments are available in Wendover and Chesham and also at the Cock and Rabbit pub at The Lee, about 3 to 4 miles into the walk. Travel: Arrive at Harrow on the Hill in time to catch the 09.39 Chiltern Railways train to Wendover arriving at 10.14. Journey time 35 minutes. Leave Chesham Met line station for Harrow on the Hill around 3pm-3.30pm. Journey time 35 minutes. Cost £7.80 from Harrow on the Hill to Wendover; £2.50 from Chesham to Harrow on the Hill with an Oyster card.
