Camping - Gloucestershire

Date: Fri-Sun Jun 10th-12th

Organisers: Peter D and Mark O

Cost: 2 nights camping is £20 per person based on own tent, or £15 if 2 people sharing a tent. £10 deposit required by April 21st (£10 event surcharge payable by casuals)

Activities: We are staying at a new tranquil and unspoilt eco-campsite with superb views over the Cotswolds. The owners are very friendly & will give fact sheet on the local area. There are marked paths and sculpture trails in the 80 acre site. We will lead a 10 mile easy-going circular walk around Coaley peak, taking in sections of the Cotswold Way, panoramic viewpoints, a pub and a special tea shop with Martina-recommended scones. Peter is arranging the camp fire and we will have a barbecue on site. On Saturday evening we can visit the National Trust manor with its famous ghost tales. There is a badger hide on site plus a bat gallery. On Sunday we will visit a nearby abbey for a history-themed hike and pub stop.

Refreshments: Self-catering on site. Campsite has farm shop with local and organic produce, will be strawberries and cream as in season, Vic and Jeff will arrange. Oz and Steve are doing the barbecue once again, please bring supplies. There is a 17th century coaching inn 20 minutes walk from the site.

Travel: Car sharing is the best option as it is a camping trip and full directions will be given to all attendees. Please use forum for car sharing.
