Round about in Bayford

Activity: 12 mile moderate circular walk starting from the picturesque village of Bayford in south east Hertfordshire (Bayford is approx. 4 miles from Hertford). This walk will take in parts of the Hertfordshire Way through Broxbourne and Hoddesdon woods, mainly flatish green belt fields and the famous Haileybury College (home of the East India Company) in the village of Hertford Heath. At the end there will be the option of drinks and a possible meal at the traditional Baker Arms pub in Bayford. The route is not difficult and pace will be moderate. This walk is a combination of paths and walks in the area where Helen grew up.
Refreshments: Sandwiches on route (possible option of a halfway drink in 'Galley Hall' Pub in Hailey, time permitting). Additional optional food drinks at end in village pub - the Bakers Arms.
Travel: Car travel to Bayford station, Hertfordshire. Bayford station has a car park (cost: £2) and there is parking in the village. The 10:26 train from Kings Cross (FCC) arrives at Bayford at 11:02 - note this train does NOT call at Finsbury Park but takes the slow line via Ally Pally, Winchmore Hill, Enfield Chase and Cuffley to Bayford.
