An afternoon at Ruislip Lido for the annual steam gala at the Lido narrow gauge railway. Details from the Gala website. We are delighted to have 'Sherpa' joining us from the Fairbourne Miniature Railway for the gala - a huge attraction running alongside steam locomotive 'Mad Bess'. A 15-minute service using 3 trains will be in operation throughout the weekend. Rare opportunity for a "be the driver for a fiver" experience, giving you the chance to take control of the locomotive for a 750m run up the line to Wellington Junction. The railway will display all locomotives and will explain about the workings of this unique preserved railway. We are meeting at the Manor Farm site for a short stroll to the Lido. Option to meet later at the Lido.
